On Friday, April 17, 2026, the ACK Diocese of Butere held a meeting with Women in Formal Employment (WIFE) at St. Luke’s Cathedral. The event was officiated by Ven. Can. Peter Andere, who commended WIFE for initiating such a valuable program, which has significantly contributed to the development of the women’s ministry. The primary objective of the meeting was to revisit the commitments made in the previous year and to reflect on achieving balance in daily life.

The meeting, led by Rose Muhanda, centered on reflection, encouragement, and renewal for women. It underscored the importance of voicing challenges, as internalizing problems can lead to emotional and mental burnout. Participants were educated on the concept of burnout and how the substantial responsibilities borne by many women at home, work, church, and within the community contribute to it.

The session highlighted the risks associated with the “superwoman trap,” urging women to recognize their limits, seek assistance, and prioritize rest. Gratitude was extended to those serving on the WIFE Commission, and elections were conducted, resulting in Rose Luvembe being elected as Secretary and Deborah as Organizing Secretary. The meeting concluded with a call to action, encouraging participants to apply the lessons learned and prioritize their well-being.
