On Thursay, April 16, 2026, the ACK Diocese of Butere hosted the AMF Western Region Music Council today in a meeting characterized by unity, reflection, and strategic planning. This gathering brought together music teams from Butere, Maseno North, Nambale, Bungoma, and Mumias, fostering a dynamic platform for fellowship and a shared vision for ministry through music.

The day commenced with a devotion led by Rev. Geofry Opembe, who delivered a message from the Gospel of John 20:19 and subsequent verses. He urged participants to live without doubt, reminding them of the peace Jesus Christ bestowed upon His followers. His reflection set a thoughtful and spiritually uplifting tone for the meeting, encouraging leaders to ground their service in faith and confidence in Christ.

Discussions during the session centered on the council’s activities for the year 2026. A key highlight was the announcement of the eagerly awaited Western Region Music Festival, scheduled for December 18, 2026, within the Butere Diocese. This news was met with enthusiasm, as members expressed their readiness to prepare for a successful and impactful event that will unite choirs and music ministers from across the region.

The council also extended deep appreciation to Diocesan Bishop Rose Okeno for her support and trust. Despite her absence, her gracious approval for the day’s proceedings was acknowledged as instrumental to the meeting’s success. The day concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing gratitude for the progress made and optimism for the future of music ministry in the Western Region.
