The ACK Diocese of Butere held leadership training for all the 52 parish executive officers in Buchenya and Mulwanda archdeaconries led by Ven. Daniel Inyangala and Ven. Canon Peter Andere. The training aimed to deepen parish executives’ understanding of Christian leadership and personal transformation, enhance their skills in stewardship and financial management, and promote unity, integrity, and holistic ministry for sustainable growth and effective church service.
Rev. Charles Watsabina delivered a session on spiritual growth, drawing insights from Ephesians 4:1–13. He called upon participants to pursue personal transformation and cultivate a genuine relationship with Christ, emphasizing that God prioritizes the condition of the heart over outward actions. He urged leaders to walk faithfully with Christ, remaining attuned to spiritual convictions.
The training featured three facilitators: Canon Robert Matati, who addressed leadership; Mission Director Rev. Edward Musungu, who focused on stewardship; and Mrs. Eunice Kochwa, who provided insights on financial management.
Canon Matati explored leadership through the lens of Acts 2 and the early Church, underscoring that belief in Christ serves as the foundation for eternal life and Christian community. He highlighted that love and commitment to Christ should drive all ministry efforts. In discussing leadership, he emphasized the importance of integrity, accountability, and service over status, describing leadership as a calling that necessitates humility, unity, and courage.

Rev. Musungu’s session on stewardship and church ministry addressed the contemporary role of the Church, emphasizing unity, holistic ministry, and the significance of giving. He encouraged participants to establish clear ministry objectives, foster healthy relationships, and practice generosity with sincerity and discretion as an act of worship.
Mrs. Kochwa, the Diocesan Accountant, provided participants with practical financial management skills, focusing on budgeting, proper record-keeping, and accountability. She emphasized that every parish has a responsibility to manage its resources effectively to support its mission and ministry.
