The Women’s Ministry of the ACK Diocese of Butere successfully convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at St. Luke’s Cathedral after a two years as guided by the MU Constitution. The event, presided over by the Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno, gathered over 132 women from across the Diocese.
The AGM served as a crucial forum for members to assess the ministry’s progress, receive reports from the Mothers Union leadership, and discuss issues impacting the growth and effectiveness of the women’s ministry within the Diocese. Delegates reviewed various reports that highlighted achievements, challenges, and future plans.
A significant highlight of the meeting was the election of a new Women’s Ministry Council. The election process was conducted smoothly and successfully, resulting in the appointment of new leaders who will guide the ministry for the next two years. Members expressed confidence in the newly elected council and pledged their support as they assume their responsibilities.
In her address, Bishop Rose Okeno commended the women for their dedication and commitment to the work of God and the growth of the Church. She recognized the vital role women play in nurturing families, strengthening congregations, and supporting community development initiatives.

The Bishop encouraged the women to remain united, steadfast in faith, and active in ministry, emphasizing that strong women of faith are essential for building a robust Church and society. She also urged the newly elected leaders to serve with integrity, humility, and a spirit of teamwork for the benefit of the entire Diocese.
The AGM concluded with prayers for the newly elected council and a renewed commitment among members to advance the mission of the Women’s Ministry within the ACK Diocese of Butere.
