ACK Diocese of Butere marked a major milestone during a KAMA enrollment service held at St. Luke’s Cathedral on June 11, 2026, where 93 new members were enrolled raising the Diocese’s KAMA membership to over 1,000 men.

The service was presided over by The Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno, who congratulated the new members and appreciated the women who accompanied and supported their husbands during the occasion.

In her address, she expressed concern over the growing political intolerance in the country, cautioning against political arrogance and calling for respect towards religious institutions. She urged the congregation to uphold the sacredness of worship, including funeral services by avoiding politics in such services.

Preaching from Genesis 12:1-20 under the theme “Stepping into the Unknown,” Bishop Okeno encouraged Christians to emulate Abraham’s faith and obedience by trusting God even in uncertain circumstances. Like Pharaoh, she challenged leaders especially in Africa to be able to read the times, know when God is displeased with certain aspects of their leadership and give way. She urged the newly enrolled members to remain steadfast to God’s calling and to serve faithfully in the Church.

The service concluded with prayers for the new members and a renewed commitment to strengthening men’s ministry within the Diocese.
