On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the Anglican Church of Kenya Diocese of Butere officially launched the ACK Mombasa Chapter in a colorful ceremony held in Mombasa. The event was graced by Bishop Rose Okeno, who encouraged Christians from Butere Diocese living in Mombasa to remain united, peaceful, and supportive of one another as one family in Christ, in order to strengthen God’s love among themselves.
Bishop Okeno noted that the formation of the Mombasa Chapter would play a significant role in bringing together members of the Diocese living away from home, helping them maintain strong spiritual and social connections with their home churches. She emphasized the importance of fellowship, cooperation, and mutual support among Christians both in the diaspora and back home.
The Bishop also expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the commendable initiative taken by Christians in Mombasa to establish the chapter. She encouraged members to work together with dedication, uphold Christian values, and continue supporting the mission and development of the Church. She further urged the faithful to use the chapter as a platform for spiritual growth, unity, mentorship, and community development while remaining steadfast in faith and prayer.

The bishop appreciated her host The Rt. Rev. Alphonse Baya, Bishop of Mombasa for opening up doors for the fellowship.
The launch marked a major milestone for members of the Diocese residing in Mombasa, symbolizing unity, togetherness, and a shared commitment to serving God and the community.
