Rev. Jane Orembe, the vicar of ACK St. Stephen’s Namasoli Parish, has urged parents to ensure their children attend Sunday school classes to learn the teachings of the Bible. She expressed concern over the declining attendance in Sunday school, noting that some children have been missing these important sessions. Rev. Jane emphasized that the church serves as a safe haven for children, especially during the Christmas holiday season.
Speaking on Sunday November 9, 2025, when she commissioned children’s swings Rev. Jane announced a series of upcoming activities for Sunday school children including parish music training and a children’s camp at St. John’s Khwisero High School, scheduled for November 10th to 13th, 2025, where she urged parents to ensure their children attend the camp.
Additionally, Rev. Jane, who also serves as the Rural Dean of Namasoli Deanery, highlighted the establishment of church feeding programs for children. She encouraged parents to refrain from overloading their children with home activities on Sundays, allowing them the opportunity to engage with their faith.

She highlighted that, the ACK diocese of Butere under the leadership of the Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno, is committed to closely monitoring children’s activities and advocate for initiatives that provide a wide range of benefits for children, including physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Drawing inspiration from the Bible, she underscored the importance of children developing a close relationship with God. Her message was supported by Lay Canon Margaret Openda, who graciously funded the construction of the children’s swings. She cautioned that the church’s future may be jeopardized if children are not introduced to God’s ministry at a young age. Canon Were called upon other benefactors to support church initiatives that address community needs.
