The African Institute for Contemporary Mission and Research recently recognized the outstanding students who excelled in the Peace Essay Writing Competition.
This prestigious competition, sponsored by the ACK Butere Diocese, took place during the International Day of Peace in September 2024.
Ben Eshitubi from Shiatsala Secondary School, Juma Samuel and George Juma Bethel from Butere Primary School, and Delmark Indakwa and Olive Khasiala from Shitsitswi Primary School were the top students in essay writing and picture composition. Each of these talented students received a cash award of Ksh. 1000.
The Program Director of AICMAR, Reverend Capt. Florence Aseka, on behalf of AICMAR board, commended the students for their exceptional writing skills and encouraged them to continue honing their talents for future competitions. She highlighted the importance of their work being preserved in the library for reference.
Canon Robert Matati, the Diocesan Education Secretary, joined Reverend Aseka in visiting the schools to present the awards. He emphasized how the competition is helping to develop the students’ critical and creative thinking abilities.
During the visits, Reverend Aseka and Canon Matati also provided pastoral care to the students and offered prayers for their success in contributing to the transformation and betterment of society.
