ACK Diocese of Butere, in partnership with St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, USA, has installed solar lighting at the community water point in Lunyu Village, Chimoi Kabaras.
The project follows the drilling of a borehole two months ago after it was observed that women and young girls were fetching water early in the morning and late in the evening, exposing them to security risks due to the lack of electricity.
The solar lighting now provides improved security and enables the community to access clean water safely at any time. The Diocese sincerely appreciates St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, USA, for generously funding this life-changing initiative.
