ACK Diocese of Butere Honours Canon Silas Hopillo at Farewell Ceremony

ACK Diocese of Butere staff gathered to honour Canon Silas Hopillo for his dedicated service as a clergy and Diocesan Administrative Secretary (DAS). Canon Hopillo served as the Diocese’s administrator for four years, providing faithful leadership marked by commitment, integrity, and humility.

Colleagues and heads of departments praised him as a calm, approachable, and supportive leader who treated everyone with fairness and encouraged those he served. They wished him God’s blessings and urged him to continue sharing the Gospel and serving the Church in retirement.

In his remarks, Canon Hopillo thanked God, Bishop Rose Okeno, the clergy, diocesan staff, and all stakeholders for their support throughout his ministry. He encouraged the staff to remain united, serve with integrity, and continue advancing the mission of the Church.

Bishop Rose Okeno commended Canon Hopillo for his faithful and selfless service, noting that his leadership greatly strengthened the Diocese over the past four years. She thanked him for his dedication, wished him God’s abundant blessings, good health, and a fulfilling retirement, and encouraged him to continue being an ambassador of Christ.

The celebration concluded with prayers and the presentation of gifts as staff members expressed their appreciation for Canon Hopillo’s remarkable service and lasting contribution to the ACK Diocese of Butere.
