The ‘Queens’ poses for a photo after receiving top dressing fertilizer
On Monday, April 13, 2026, the ACK Diocese of Butere successfully donated 100 bags of fertilizer to widows, referred to as “Queens,” across the Diocese, with each parish identifying two widows.
This initiative was conducted throughout the Diocese, reaching all deaneries and benefiting a total of 104 widows. The Women’s Ministry, in collaboration with Diocesan Bishop Rose Okeno, spearheaded the effort.
The Mothers Union Coordinator, Rev. Josephine Mombo, expressed gratitude to Kakamega Women Representative Mama Elsie Muhanda for her generosity towards the widows.

Bishop Rose commended the initiative, emphasizing the importance of building strong relationships, as they can be channels for divine provision. She advised the community to remain grateful for God’s provisions, as they can lead to miracles. The widows expressed their appreciation to Mama Bishop and the Diocese for their commendable work.
Among all the deaneries, Shiatsala and Namasoli were recognized for their exemplary participation in holistic ministry, with the Vicar, Rural Dean, and parish executives present to witness the program.
