Five Talents Kenya has officially relaunched the Butere Community Development Trust, BUCODET, in the ACK diocese of Butere. The decision to separate BUCODET from the WECODET cluster of three dioceses was made in order to enhance operational efficiency and foster the growth of the Trust group.

Five Talents Kenya’s chief executive officer, Peter Mugendi, said a dedicated team has been assembled to oversee the operations of BUCODET which includes a projects coordinator and a field officer who will work tirelessly to ensure the success of the Trust group.

Following a leadership training session at AICMAR in Butere, Mugendi emphasized the importance of community involvement in BUCODET while encouraging residents of Butere and Khwisero sub-counties to actively participate in the initiative of saving and investing within the group.

These sentiments were echoed by the Diocesan Bishop, Rose Okeno, who emphasized the irreversible nature of the project urging Anglican faithfuls to take the lead in registering within their parish groups and fully embrace the mission of BUCODET.

Bishop Okeno further highlighted the implementation of measures to ensure that all staff members within the diocese are registered with BUCODET emphasizing that the saving and investment initiative aligns directly with the Diocesan vision of actively addressing the needs of the community.

In conclusion, the relaunch of BUCODET signifies a new chapter in community development within the Butere and Khwisero region. Through collaborative efforts and a commitment to financial empowerment, the Trust aims to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and families in the area.
