Bishop Rose Okeno of the ACK Diocese of Butere inaugurated the Standing Committee of the Synod on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the West Kenya Hall AICMAR. She urged members to diligently serve the ministry of God. Prior to the meeting, Bishop Okeno presided over a Holy Communion service at ACK St. Luke’s Cathedral. The meeting focused on the formation of boards, membership, and chairpersons, as well as the establishment of diocesan committees.
Bishop Okeno encouraged committee members to provide service that would elevate the diocese to new heights. Among the proposed committees was the Digital and Communication Committee, which will lead communication initiatives within the diocese and facilitate the acquisition of modern broadcast equipment.
Additionally, she expressed gratitude to the members of the Standing Committee for their commitment to serving and implementing the resolutions passed during the previous year’s Synod meeting.
