“God’s plan cannot be thwarted. He will carefully carry it to completion despite the obstacles”. This was the powerful message delivered by Bishop Rose Okeno of the ACK Diocese of Butere during the Confirmation and Holy Communion service at St. Luke’s Emunuku Church on Sunday, December 28, 2028, in observance of Holy Innocents Sunday.
Bishop Okeno emphasized that humanity was created by God to witness His goodness, and He has benevolent plans for each person. Drawing inspiration from the Book of Luke, she highlighted that despite King Herod’s malevolent intentions to kill all male children under the age of two, God’s purpose of sending Jesus to save the world was not hindered by Herod’s wrath.

She urged the congregation to serve God diligently to experience His goodness in their lives. Furthermore, she encouraged them not to be disheartened during challenging times but to trust in God to provide a way forward.
Additionally, the Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno confirmed 44 candidates who affirmed their faith in God and committed to serving in His ministry. She expressed gratitude to the entire St. Peter’s Eshitoyi parishioners for their steadfast dedication and commitment to the ministry. The bishop was hosted by the parish vicar, Rev. Mary Shikhule, Mulwanda Archdeacon Ven Canon Peter Andere, among other parish leaders.
