ACK St. Mark’s Shianda Parish has been officially consecrated as a worship center in a service led by The Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno. The ACK diocese of Butere Bishop commenced the proceedings by overseeing the laying of Foundation stone ceremony for the building, followed by the consecration service of the church, whose construction began in 2017.
She expressed gratitude to the parishioners for their dedication in constructing the sanctuary. In her sermon, the Diocesan Bishop encouraged the parishioners to glorify God and lead lives of purity, reflecting the beauty of their well-designed structure.
Additionally, the Bishop presided over the confirmation of 48 candidates, urging the congregation to support and guide them in their spiritual journey. The candidates pledged to serve God and remain steadfast in prayer.

Drawing inspiration from Isaiah 2:1-5, she encouraged the congregation to walk in the light of God, despite any challenges they may encounter. Furthermore, she cautioned Christians against corrupt practices that result in the election of unsuitable political leaders.
The service also featured the participation of annual widows Christ celebration where the bishop shared assorted items including clothing and foodstuff to enhance their well-being. The Bishop was hosted by Buchenya Archdeacon Ven. Daniel Inyangala and his Mulwanda counterpart, Ven. Canon Peter Andere, along with other vicars from the Shiatsala Deanery.
