Bishop Rose Okeno of the ACK Diocese of Butere has called upon Christians to remain steadfast in their dedication to God’s ministry and to be ever ready to serve. She emphasized the importance of full commitment to God’s work and the service of humanity.
Speaking when she presided over the confirmation service for 34 candidates at ACK St. John’s Bukolwe Parish on Sunday, November 30, 2025, Bishop Okeno stressed the necessity of diligent study of God’s word and cautioned against being influenced by ungodly distractions. She urged the new converts to wholeheartedly serve God, dedicating their lives to Him and placing their faith and hope in His guidance.
The Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno also encouraged the congregation to support and guide the newly confirmed members, helping them to follow paths that are pleasing to God. In addition to the confirmation service, the Bishop laid the foundation stone for a new residential building. She praised the congregation’s commitment to service, particularly their initiative in launching a project aimed at generating income for the parish. Bishop Okeno highlighted that such income-generating projects are designed to alleviate the financial burden on Christians in supporting church activities.

The diocesan Bishop used the day being the beginning of Advent, to call upon Christians to be awake; walk in the Light of God and in His paths towards Christmas. Its a time to seek peace, love and joy.
The Bishop was hosted by the parish vicar, Rev. Phyllis Oketch, along with Shikunga Rural Dean Rev. Washington Kataka, and Mulwanda Archdeacon Ven. Canon Peter Andere, who represented his colleague, Archdeacon Ven. Daniel Inyangala, among many other parishioners attending.
