
Mama Truphosa Amukhale, affectionately known as Mama Mataifa, has been laid to rest at her home in Emungabo village, Khushiku sub-location, Khwisero sub-county. Renowned for her honesty and unwavering spirit, she was a figure who stood firm in her convictions, earning both admiration and criticism in equal measure.
Bishop Rose Okeno of the ACK Diocese of Butere expressed her profound loss, describing Mama Truphosa as a dear friend and confidant who played a pivotal role in the success of Diocesan functions within the Mothers Union department. During the burial service held at Ekambuli Secondary School grounds on Saturday, November 29, 2025, the Bishop highlighted Mama Truphosa’s dedication to combating gender-based violence, underscoring her commitment to social justice.

In her heartfelt address, Bishop Okeno encouraged the family and the congregation to embody patience and love for one another, emphasizing the importance of serving with commitment and humility.
Alexander Oscar Amukhale, representing the family, extended their gratitude to all who supported them during the difficult time. He also expressed appreciation to the church for its pastoral care during Mama Truphosa’s illness prior to her calling home. The service featured a powerful sermon delivered by Rev. Canon Justus Nyamwata, who drew inspiration from Psalm 11:3, urging Christians to build strong foundations in their faith.
