Full job description
We are seeking a gifted and spirit-led Audio & Video Equipment Technician responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing and troubleshooting audio and video equipment. He/she should be able to play music quickly by ear and flow with the movement of the Holy Spirit during worship services and also be able to read the Music Chords. The ideal candidate has a heart for ministry, a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a deep passion for praise and worship that creates an atmosphere where lives are transformed through the presence of God.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide musical accompaniment for worship services, rehearsals, and special church events.
• Play under the direction of the Worship Leader or the Provost, flowing seamlessly through transitions led by the Holy Spirit.
• Learn songs quickly by ear and adapt to spontaneous changes in tempo, key, or arrangement.
• Support praise team vocalists and other musicians with sensitivity and unity.
• Participate in rehearsals, prayer, and spiritual preparation before services.
• Maintain a spirit of excellence, humility, and teamwork in all musical and ministry activities.
• Assist in introducing new songs, helping the congregation engage in dynamic and heartfelt worship.
• Handle musical instruments and equipment with care and ensure proper setup and sound quality.
• Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to serve in multiple musical styles (gospel, contemporary, traditional, etc.).
Qualifications
• A diploma in Music training from any recognized institution. A degree in Music will be an added advantage.
• Strong ability to play by ear and follow vocal and instrumental cues in live worship settings.
• Experience playing in church or similar worship environments.
• Deep personal faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with the ministry’s mission and values.
• Ability to flow prophetically and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit during services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a cooperative, teachable spirit.
• Commitment to punctuality, consistency, and spiritual integrity.
• Have knowledge of instruments and keyboard and ability to sufficiently play Hymns, modern songs and handle music accompaniments.
