The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Diocese of Butere continues to encourage residents of Butere and Khwisero sub-counties to join the Butere Community Development Trust (BUCODET). The diocese emphasizes that participation in the Trust groups will facilitate members in saving and investing for their economic advancement.
At a gathering at St. Stephens Mulwanda, Archdeacon Ven. Canon Peter Andere, along with his Buchenya counterpart urged residents to prioritize saving and future planning by becoming part of BUCODET. Ven. Andere highlighted that BUCODET is inclusive and welcomes all community members, regardless of their religious affiliations. He further encouraged attendees to adopt a positive mindset and work diligently towards securing a prosperous future.

Ven. Daniel Inyangala remarked on the empowerment of early adopters of the initiative, who have benefited from low-interest loans at a rate of one percent. The remarks were made during a thanksgiving service organized by the Mulwanda BUCODET group to celebrate their achievements, where they were recognized as the best-performing group. The event also served as an opportunity to recruit new members.
The service was attended by BUCODET Coordinator Wilfred Nandwa, Field Officer Wycliffe Mukonyi, and other officials from both national and county governments who all praised the initiative under leadership of The Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno.
