President William Ruto has officially inaugurated the newly built Butere County Hospital, constructed by the Kakamega County Government. The hospital is dedicated to delivering high-quality curative, preventive, promotional, and rehabilitative health services to the community through innovative and evidence-based medical practices.

The commissioning ceremony was presided by The Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno, Bishop of the ACK Diocese of Butere, on Thursday morning. Bishop Okeno offered prayers for the new institution and bestowed blessings upon all staff members working at the facility to work diligently as their service to God.

President Ruto announced that the hospital has been equipped with medical machinery valued at 150 million Kenyan shillings, enabling it to provide services such as radiology, orthopedics, and trauma care. Furthermore, the President assured Butere residents of the forthcoming construction of a Kenya Medical Training Centre, which will offer medical courses to students and complement the hospital’s services. He also reaffirmed the commitment to completing the Level Six County Referral Hospital in Kakamega.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya, Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, and Butere Member of Parliament Tindi Mwale, among other leaders.
