Mrs. Lilian Pessa, the Lay Secretary to the Synod of the ACK Diocese of Butere, has called on parents to diligently care for their children during the upcoming extended holiday. Mrs. Pessa highlighted that the two-and-a-half-month break could pose challenges for parents if they do not closely monitor their children’s activities. She urged parents to take on the role of educators at home, assisting with homework and fostering a productive learning environment.
Speaking at the PP2 graduation ceremony at Junior Academy Butere on Friday afternoon, Mrs. Pessa emphasized the importance of regular parental involvement in their children’s education. She also advised parents to begin preparing for school fees in advance to avoid any disruptions when schools reopen after the Christmas holidays.

As a director at Junior Academy Butere, Mrs. Pessa committed to enhancing the school’s learning environment upon reopening. Her co-director, Bannister Pessah, supported her sentiments and announced plans to acquire a school bus for the Academy in the new term.
The graduation ceremony was officiated by Rev. Josephine Mombo, who encouraged the children to strive for academic excellence and be a source of pride for their parents. A total of 37 candidates graduated from PP2 and are set to advance to Grade 1 next year.
