Bishop Rose Okeno of the ACK Diocese of Butere has called upon Christians to utilize their divinely given positions to effect positive change in society and to serve those around them. She emphasized that these roles are bestowed by God for a purpose, underscoring the importance of using them judiciously.
Bishop Okeno delivered this message during a confirmation and consecration service at St. Anne’s Shitoto Church in Masaba Parish on Sunday, where she confirmed seventy-two candidates. Drawing inspiration from the book of 2 Kings, she spoke on themes of salvation and faith, urging the newly confirmed to engage actively in God’s ministry while adhering to His commandments.

The consecration service marked the church’s dedication for holy services, ensuring it remains free from secular activities. Bishop Okeno presented the consecration certificate to the vicar, Rev. Washington Amutashi, and encouraged the congregation to maintain the sanctity of the church.
Accompanying Bishop Okeno were the Diocesan Administrative Secretary, Rev. Canon Silas Hopillo, and they were warmly received by Buchenya Archdeacon Ven. Daniel Inyangala, Shiatsala Rural Dean Rev. Harrison Etindi, among other church leaders. Among the confirmed candidates was Faustine Lipuku, also known as Baba Talisha, a prominent Kenyan content creator, photographer, and influencer.
