Bishop Rose Okeno Consecrates ACK St. Bartholomew Muliandesiru Church

The ACK St. Bartholomew Muliandesiru Church has been officially consecrated as a center for worship. The consecration service, presided over by Bishop Rose Okeno, was attended by more than 300 parishioners from Shitoyi, marking a significant milestone for the community within Shiaka village.

Bishop Rose urged the congregation to dedicate the church solely to the purpose of worshiping God. She presented the consecration certificate to the parish vicar Rev. Mary Shikhule and the parish council executive members, amidst jubilant celebrations from the congregation.

In her sermon, based on the Book of Habakkuk, Bishop Rose, the fourth diocesan bishop, emphasized that Christians should confront sin without compromise and be faithful representatives of God. She encouraged have the right attitude and trust that God will sort out evil and restore justice in a world struggling with social, political and religious injustices.

The bishop was hosted by Mulwanda Archdeacon Ven. Canon Peter Andere and Shitoyi parish vicar Rev. Mary Shikhule, along with other vicars and lay leaders. The church’s foundation stone was laid on July 15, 2007, during a service led by the late Rt. Rev. Michael Sande.
