Location: ACK Diocese of Butere Offices

Reports To: Diocesan Administative Secretary

Contract Type: Full-time (3 years, Renewable, subject to performance)

About the Role

The Anglican Church of Kenya, Diocese of Butere, seeks a highly motivated and results-driven individual to serve as the Special Programs and Projects Manager. This role provides leadership in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating diocesan projects and special programs.

Key responsibilities include oversight of income-generating institutions (Eshimuli Guest House, Eshimwenyi Bookshop, Canon Awori Garment Making Project, Masaba Dispensary, and Namasoli Health Center) as well as coordination of social ministry programs for Teen Mums, Widows, Youths, and Men.

The successful candidate will ensure sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and strategic development aligned with the mission and values of the Diocese.

Key Responsibilities

● Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of diocesan projects and programs.

● Provide strategic and operational oversight for diocesan institutions to ensure sustainability and growth.

● Prepare project proposals, budgets, and progress reports for the Diocesan Board and stakeholders.

● Oversee financial management, resource mobilization, and accountability in all projects.

● Supervise and mentor project and institutional staff, fostering teamwork and innovation.

● Build and maintain partnerships with donors, government agencies, and community

stakeholders.● Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, donor requirements, and government

regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

● Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.

● Master’s degree or professional certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is an added advantage.

● Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing multi-sectoral projects or institutions, preferably in a faith-based or non-profit environment.

● Demonstrated experience in managing income-generating activities and community-based programs.

● Strong skills in budgeting, financial oversight, and reporting.

● Proven leadership and people management abilities.
