Dorinah Andayi Omulubi has been laid to rest at her home in Emanyinya village, Bumamu sub-location, Butere sub-county. She was married to the late Evangelist Livingston Omulubi Kweyu and will be remembered as a founding member of the ACK St. Barnabas’ Bumamu parish. Dorinah played a pivotal role in mentoring many young women, guiding them to lead godly lives and serve in God’s ministry.
Her family, led by George Omulama, described her as a devoted prayer warrior who instilled in them the importance of attending Sunday services and maintaining gratitude towards God. Her grandchildren, including Carole Waswa, fondly remembered her as an advisor, teacher, and confidant, whose wise counsel ensured they were well-fed, educated, and well-dressed.
The burial service of the eighty-seven-year-old grandmother was officiated by the Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno, who encouraged the congregation to remain thankful to God and urged the family to place their trust in Him during difficult times. Drawing inspiration from Psalm 23, Bishop Okeno noted that the valley of the shadow of death is a dangerous place to be while encouraging the congregation to stick close to the Good shepherd while there, for protection.
She emphasized that Christians are never alone there if they trust in God the Good shepherd. “Sometimes, He allows us in the valley for our own good. We can’t stay in the valley forever; the shepherd will eventually lead us through, to green pastures and still waters,” Added the fourth Diocesan Bishop.
