The ACK Diocese of Butere, under the leadership of Bishop Rose Okeno, held a deconsecration service at St. Mark’s Shianda Parish. This significant service marked the transition of the church building from its original purpose of worship to a space designated for ordinary use.

In her sermon, the Right Reverend Rose emphasized the themes of obedience, encouragement for the heartbroken, and God’s unwavering faithfulness in fulfilling His divine purpose. Drawing inspiration from Haggai 2:1-9, she urged congregants to maintain their faith in God as they engage in His ministry.

Bishop Okeno also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the congregation for their steadfast commitment to God’s work within the diocese. She encouraged them to actively participate in the Diocesan Butere Community Development Trust programs, which are designed to enhance their saving and investing practices for future prosperity.

The midweek service was also attended by several notable church leaders, including the Buchenya Archdeacon, Ven. Daniel Inyangala, and Shiatsala Area Dean, Rev. Harrison Etindi, among others. All congregation presence underscored the collective commitment to fostering community development and spiritual growth within the diocese.
