The Reverend Canon Silas Hopillo, the Administrative Secretary of ACK Butere Diocese, is urging Christians to approach God with repentance in order to establish a deeper connection with Him.

Canon Hopillo emphasized the importance of inviting Jesus into their lives as the pathway to God, drawing inspiration from the book of Proverbs which states that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. He encouraged individuals to repent of their sins and strive to walk righteously in the eyes of God.

He made these sentiments when he presided over the dedication service of a newly constructed two-story building at ACK St. Barnabas Shinamwenyuli Secondary School on Friday afternoon. He also advised students to prioritize their academics while urging parents to diligently pay school fees and other education-related expenses.

The event was attended by Butere Member of Parliament, Tindi Mwale, who expressed concern over the increasing insecurity in the Shinamwenyuli region. Mwale called upon stakeholders to collaborate in addressing the security challenges in the Sub-county and urged the community to report any suspicious individuals contributing to the problem.

The newly built two-story building will provide eight classrooms for the school’s student population of over 600, offering a modern and enhanced learning environment.

Principal Hellen Atenya of the school expressed her sincere appreciation for the new facility and assured that it will be utilized to its fullest potential in their ongoing quest for academic excellence.

Furthermore, Mwale has made a commitment to build six additional classrooms for Shinamwenyuli Comprehensive School, showcasing his dedication to improving educational opportunities in the area.

Shinamwenyuli Secondary School is among the 34 schools sponsored by the Butere Diocese ACK, known for its academic achievements. The diocese is committed to ensuring academic excellence and wholistic growth of learners in all our sponsored schools.
