The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) diocese of Butere’s Administrative Secretary, Reverend Canon Silas Hopillo, has challenged Christian teachers to actively apply their knowledge by teaching God’s gospel in both schools and churches.

Canon Hopillo emphasized that teachers have the power to positively impact the world when they put their knowledge into action. Citing inspiration from the book of Matthew, Chapter 9, Verse 35, the Diocesan Administrative Secretary highlighted the importance of teachers fulfilling their role on earth as messengers of God.

He made these remarks when he officially closed a five-day Christian teachers training program held at Butere Girls High School on Friday afternoon.
Reverend Canon Capt. Richard Mayabi, Executive Director of Anglican Missions Africa, echoed Canon Hopillo’s sentiments, urging teachers to boldly invest more in spreading the gospel within school settings.

The training program will continue online for a period of ten weeks, allowing participants to further develop their skills before graduating.

The trainees will be awarded a chaplaincy certificate from the University of Nations in partnership with Africa International University.
The training initiative was a collaborative effort between the ACK Diocese of Butere and Anglican Missions Africa.

Some of the clergy members from the ACK diocese of Butere who participated in the training are Rev. Capt. Florence Aseka, Rev. Capt. Irene Kwamboka, Rev. Emily Meta, Rev. Joseck Isanda among others.
