The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Butere Diocesan Administrative Secretary, Reverend Canon Silas Hopillo, emphasized the importance of teachers remaining faithful to God as they play a crucial role in shaping the lives of individuals.

Canon Hopillo likened the teaching profession to God’s ministry of impact and molding, highlighting the significant influence teachers have in shaping the world. He shared these insights during a Butere diocese ACK-sponsored retreat for school heads of institutions in Busia town on Wednesday morning.

Drawing inspiration from the book of Joshua 3, Canon Hopillo representing the diocesan bishop who is away on leave, encouraged teachers to stay resilient in the face of challenges they may encounter in their service. His words were supported by the Diocesan Education Board Chairperson, Lay Canon Grace Amira, who stressed the pivotal role teachers play in providing proper guidance urging

The retreat was also attended by the Diocesan Education Secretary, Reverend Canon Robert Matati, Anglican-sponsored secondary school principals Chairperson Lay Canon Luke Ogolla, and Education Board Member Mama Bilha Aura. This two-day event which commenced on Wednesday serves as an opportunity for school leaders to strategize and explore ways to enhance education standards in alignment with the Diocesan education vision.
