Bishop Emeritus Rt. Rev. Muchai commends ACK Butere Diocese Clergy for Involvement in Five Talents Program

The Chairperson of Five Talents Kenya Board, Bishop Emeritus Rt. Rev. Joseph Muchai, commended the clergy of the ACK Butere Diocese for their active involvement in Five talents program.

Bishop Muchai emphasized that the formation of these microfinance groups is crucial in helping the communities improve their livelihoods through savings and access to loans.

During a meeting with members of the ACK Butere Clergy Trust Group, operating under the Butere Community Development Trust (BUCODET),the former ACK Nakuru diocese bishop highlighted the success stories of members who have been able to develop themselves by furthering their education, educating their children and even building descent houses through this initiative.

Muchai urged all members of the community to join BUCODET, emphasizing that the trust groups should be inclusive and welcome individuals from all denominations.

His sentiments were supported by Rt. Rev. Dr. Alphonse Mwaro Baya of the ACK Mombasa Diocese and Rt. Rev. Ernest Ngeno of the ACK Kericho Diocese, who were also present during the meeting.

The three bishops had visited Trust groups in Butere and Mumias Dioceses, before holding their National Five Talents Board meeting.

Bishop Rose Okeno, the host bishop, expressed her gratitude for the visit and assured the board’s national office of her continued support forand encouragement of the trust groups.

She noted that this is one way in which the diocese responds to society’s needs. She noted that the program was strongly picking up despite many challenges.

Also present at the meeting was BUCODET’s chairperson Roselyne Muleshe and Diocesan Administrator Rev. Canon Silas Hopillo.
