The African Institute for Contemporary Mission and Research (AICMAR) is planning a partnership program with Selina Peace Centre and Training Institute to offer guiding and counselling training to the ACK diocese of Butere church parents.

The Bungoma-based institution’s founder and CEO Carol Wanyama said they intend to train Mothers Union members and the general parents on family and moral values.

Speaking to GGTV after meeting with AICMAR’s leadership on Wednesday afternoon in Butere, she said the training will impact the community by strengthening the families.

She added that they will extend the training to guiding and counseling teachers and peer leaders in schools and creating mental awareness in the community.

Her sentiments were echoed by the Nambale Bishop Emeritus Josiah Were who praised the partnership between AICMAR and Selina Peace Institute.

The Wednesday, September 4, 2024 meeting between the AICMAR leadership and the Selina Peace Institute officials was a fellowship to deliberate on the partnership and was attended by the ACK Butere diocesan Administrative Secretary Rev. Canon Silas Hopillo who represented Bishop Rose Okeno who is away on official duties, Diocesan Education Secretary Rev. Canon Robert Matati and AICMAR director Rev. Captain Florence Aseka.

The program is expected to transform the community and offer a peaceful atmosphere at home and school.
