ACK Butere diocese bishop Rose Okeno has challenged the new cabinet recently appointed by President William Ruto to listen to God carefully and obey His word as probably they might be the hope kenyans are expectantly looking for to save the nation.

Rt. Rev. Okeno said this country’s solution is in God’s hands and urged all the leaders to be honest and self-introspective to have good governance.

In her sermon during the thanksgiving service for the new CS Wycliffe Oparanya at Mabole grounds in Butere sub-county on Saturday, the bishop said God speaks in unique ways and we can only understand if we take time to be quiet and listen.

Her 20-minute sermon reflected on the book of Isaiah 55:3-8 as she emphasized the need to listen to God with clean hearts.

Before a fully packed crowd at the Mabole primary school grounds, bishop Okeno added that we can’t hear God with all the noise and lies around us, but we must intentionally choose to listen to God amidst all this, because the solution to our problems is with God

The thanksgiving service was attended by President William Ruto, governors Fernandes Barassa of Kakamega, Vihiga’s Dr. Wilbur Ottichilo, Dr. Paul Otuoma of Busia as well as Bungoma’s Ken Lusaka, Simba Arati, and Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o of Kisii and Kisumu respectively.

Other dignitaries who graced the event included Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli, several members of parliament, and several members of county assemblies.
