St. Stephen’s Mulwanda Secondary School’s new principal Stephen Makonjio has promised to deliver better results in this year’s KCSE national results. Makonjio said his current class of form fours is capable of attaining the set target of a 5.7 mean score in the exams.

In his speech today at the school, the former teacher at Canon Awori High School in Nambale said he believes the hard work instilled in the current class dubbed The Eagles has more than 40 candidates who are poised to join the universities next year.

“I want to say that we are going to deliver in this year’s national exams. The students you see here are very smart and they are borders in nature. The only difference is that their dormitories are at home”, said the principal.

The 53-year-old Analo also commended their support to the school’s teaching staff urging them to keep the spirit.

“We can’t do much if we don’t get the parents’ support. When we instill discipline in school, they have to maintain it at home”, advised Mr. Analo.

The principal who is also an accomplished literature teacher was speaking during his induction service which was presided over by the ACK Butere diocese Bishop Rose Okeno at the school on Wednesday morning.

In her sermon, the Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno urged leaders and people in power to practice integrity for them to deliver good results.

Exodus 18:13-26 formed the basis of her sermon with emphasis on leaders being good listeners to good pieces of advice.

“Be attentive to the needs and aspirations of the people and the Lord God will bless you. Choose the right people you can always trust to make your work easier”, advised the Bishop.

In the service that was attended by the school parents and the students, Bishop Rose Okeno used the opportunity to ask the new principal to build and nurture a team that would help him deliver his vision for the school.

The service was also attended by the Mulwanda Archdeacon Ven. Canon Peter Andere and his Buchenya counterpart Ven. Daniel Inyangala.
