The ACK Butere diocese bishop Rose Okeno has challenged the students in schools to seek the wisdom of God to reach their desired destinations.
The Rt. Rev. Rose said wisdom will be beneficial as it is the emphasis of God’s knowledge which will help them to excel academically.
In her sermon at Butere Boys High School, the bishop highlighted the benefits of wisdom which will help the students to live a happy peaceful life full of honor.
The 4th Butere diocesan bishop added that the students ought to have the right mentality and heart to receive wisdom from God which is equivalent to His knowledge.
“Wisdom does not come on a silver platter but through hard lessons, receiving corrections, and because God means well even as he disciplines”, acknowledged the bishop.
Her sermon revolved around King Solomon, the writer of the book of Proverbs in the Holy Bible as she encouraged the students to read the word of God for them to gain the right direction of their paths.
“Each one of us has a dream. Remember to acknowledge God to allow Him to direct our paths for will be sure of achieving and arriving at our destinations”, she noted.
The Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno was speaking on Friday morning at Butere Boys High School grounds during the induction of new students including 353 form one students who reported at school this year.
The wisdom sermon emphasized happiness, guidance, and contentment as great benefits in the students’ lives as they also gain the favor of the Lord and honor.
The service which was also attended by the school teachers touched on a peaceful life and living longer as one of the great benefits of the knowledge of God reach their desired destinations.
Meanwhile, the Butere Boys High School principal Habil Malika believes that this year form four candidates are capable of attaining a mean score of 7.0 and above in this year’s national examinations.
Malika said the Form four candidates dubbed The Eagles are working hard to beat last year’s mean score of 5.9. The school has a population of 1578 students.
