ACK St. Stephen’s Emusunguri Church of Shiraha held a special Sunday service on May 10, 2026, presided over by Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno. The occasion marked a historic milestone for the congregation and the wider Emusunguri community.

The church celebrated God’s blessings having hosted diocesan bishop thirty years since its consecration in 1995, making the occasion deeply meaningful and significant.

The service was rich in liturgical activities and spiritual significance, including the rededication of the church, confirmation of 62 members, the Layreaders reaffirmation of ministry and the celebration of Holy Communion.

Bishop Okeno drew her sermon from John 21:1–14, emphasizing Christ’s abiding presence and power in the lives of believers. She underscored that genuine discipleship calls for steadfast commitment, obedience, trust, and faithfulness in Jesus Christ. Using the account of the miraculous catch of fish, she encouraged the congregation to listen attentively to Christ’s voice and to act in obedience, assuring them that God’s divine intervention comes at the appointed time.

She concluded by affirming that faithful service to Christ is never in vain. Those who remain committed to following Him, she noted, will experience His revelation in their daily lives, witness His miraculous provision, find renewed hope, and receive God’s reaffirmation according to His will.
