On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, the Mulwanda Archdeaconry convened for a solemn and uplifting reaffirmation service for lay ministers at ACK St. Stephen’s Mulwanda Parish, a moment that renewed commitment, strengthened faith, and deepened their dedication to service.
The service was presided over by Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno, whose presence filled the occasion with both grace and spiritual authority. Clergy, lay ministers, and congregants gathered in unity, reflecting the Church’s shared mission to nurture and sustain God’s work.
Bishop Okeno delivered a sermon from Exodus 24, focusing on the theme, “Keeping God’s Covenant.” She reminded the congregation of the Israelites’ commitment to obey the Lord after receiving His covenant, emphasizing that faithfulness to God is not a one-time declaration but a continuous, intentional journey.
She challenged the lay ministers to remain steadfast in their calling, upholding integrity, obedience, and dedication in their service. Just as the people of Israel affirmed, “We will do everything the Lord has said,” she urged them to manifest their reaffirmation not merely in words, but through daily actions that reflect God’s will.
The reaffirmation service was marked by moments of reflection, prayer, and renewal, as lay ministers recommitted themselves to their sacred responsibilities within the Church. It served as a powerful reminder that ministry is rooted in covenant, a sacred bond that calls for faithfulness, humility, and unwavering trust in God.
As the service concluded, there was a renewed sense of purpose among those present, with many leaving encouraged to continue serving diligently, knowing that keeping God’s covenant remains at the heart of their ministry and witness.
