ACK St. Barnabas’ Shinamwenyuli Celebrates 2025 KCSE Results With Top Student Attaining Grade A

ACK St. Barnabas Shinamwenyuli Secondary School held a thanksgiving service on Thursday, January 22, 2026, to celebrate their outstanding 2025 KCSE results. The service, held on the school grounds, brought together students, teachers, parents, and form four class of 2025 to express gratitude for their remarkable achievements, which included producing the top student not only in Butere sub-county but also across Khwisero, Matungu, Mumias East, and Mumias West Sub-counties.

School Principal Hellen Atenya commended the former class for their resilience and discipline, encouraging the current students to follow their example and strive for even greater success. She expressed her appreciation to the parents, teachers, and the broader community for their collective efforts, which contributed to the success of the 158 candidates, 62 of whom are set to join university later this year.

Principal Atenya also praised the top candidate, Clement Opiyo Owino, who achieved an impressive grade A of 84 points, highlighting his hard work and discipline. Additionally, she acknowledged her predecessor, Mr. Samuel Ogolla, for laying a strong educational foundation for the former Form 4 class. The top grade of A minus achieved in the school was in the 2011 KCSE results. The principal proudly announced that three candidates, Derrick Odinga, Boniface Aliaka, and Ruben Wasike, earned A minus grades.

She expressed heartfelt appreciation for the church sponsor’s unwavering support and pastoral care within the school community. The service was led by Bishop Rose Okeno, who encouraged the congregation to uphold high standards of discipline, maintain focus, support dedicated staff, and embrace responsible parenthood. The bishop emphasized that God had chosen the school to demonstrate His mercies, despite its modest status.

In her sermon, drawn from the book of Isaiah, she highlighted the importance caltivating a heart of thanksgiving, praise publicly and remaining faithfully to God. Also in attendance were Buchenya Archdeacon Ven. Daniel Inyangala, Shikunga Deanery Rural Dean Rev. Washington Kataka, and Rev. Joshua Etemesi, vicar of ACK St. Barnabas Shinamwenyuli parish, among others.
