
Rev. Harrison Mirikau, the Shiraha Rural Dean within the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Diocese of Butere, has retired from active ministry after 32 years of dedicated service. His retirement and thanksgiving service took place at his residence in Eshihaka Eshitoyi on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. During the event, Rev. Mirikau reflected on his rewarding journey in serving God and urged his colleagues to remain steadfast in their ministry, regardless of the challenges they may encounter.
Drawing inspiration from Genesis 28:15, he emphasized the unwavering nature of God’s promises to those who serve diligently. Throughout his ministry, Rev. Mirikau held several significant positions, including Diocesan Children Ministry Coordinator, Diocesan Mission Department Committee Member, Diocesan Youth Chairperson, and Rural Dean. Despite his retirement, he has committed to continuing his service in God’s ministry, offering pastoral support whenever needed.

The retirement and thanksgiving service was presided over by the Mulwanda Archdeacon, Ven. Canon Peter Andere, with the assistance of numerous clergy members in attendance.
