Bishop Rose Okeno of the ACK Diocese of Butere has called upon the youth to actively proclaim the word of God and foster discipleship. She emphasized the importance of youth-driven transformation and societal change through the proclamation of God’s ministry.
Bishop Okeno delivered these remarks when she presided over the closing ceremony of the ACK Diocese of Butere KAYO 2025 Conference at Butere Girls High School on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. She encouraged the conference delegates to implement the lessons learned during the four-day KAYO Conference.
Drawing inspiration from the book of James, chapter 1, the Bishop urged the delegates to be attentive listeners and to act righteously in their ministry service. She also expressed gratitude to the delegates for their participation in this year’s conference, which attracted over 800 attendees, including some from the neighboring Maseno West Diocese.

Her message was reinforced by Mission Director Rev. Edward Musungu, who encouraged the youth to set a positive example upon returning to their respective parishes.
Additionally, Diocesan KAYO Coordinator Rev. Fred Akali commended the diverse talents showcased during the conference, including singing, dancing, preaching, and comedy. He expressed his satisfaction of the Conference where 51 delegates gave their lives to Christ.
The next conference is scheduled to be held at the same venue next year, with proposals to conduct it before the Christmas holidays.
