
Bishop Rose Okeno of the ACK Diocese of Butere commended the exceptional quality of performances at the Diocesan Music Festival, held at St. Luke’s Cathedral on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The Bishop noted that the participants delivered outstanding musical pieces, reflecting a significant enhancement in the music worship experience across parishes.
Following the festival, Bishop Okeno expressed her admiration for the involvement of the Children’s Ministry team, which showcased a diverse range of performances, including hymns, choral pieces, and Bible verses. She urged church leaders to continue educating the younger generation on the significance of Anglican liturgy and the use of their mother tongue.
Additionally, she praised the festival organizers for selecting presentation items that align well with Anglican liturgical traditions. Her sentiments were echoed by James Amukhale, the Diocesan Music Chairperson, who emphasized that the festival aims to promote excellent singing and enrich the worship experience in church services.
Rev. Everlyne Opanda, the Music and Liturgy Coordinator, expressed gratitude to the 18 parishes that participated in this year’s festival and encouraged all parishes to engage in future events. She highlighted that the festival fosters unity among participants and serves as a platform for learning and exchange.
The festival drew participants from various groups, including Women, Men, KAYO, the Children’s Ministry Department, and parish choirs.
