Bishop Rose Okeno of the ACK Diocese of Butere has urged political leaders in Kenya to demonstrate tolerance and serve as role models for the younger generation. She emphasized the importance of nurturing and guiding children to foster a better future. Bishop Okeno criticized politicians for using inappropriate language at their political rallies and called on mainstream media to filter content that could negatively influence young minds.
During the rededication, confirmation, and Holy Communion service at ACK St. Mathews Mundoli Parish, Bishop Okeno expressed concern over the verbal attacks among politicians, which threaten the country’s peaceful atmosphere.
Drawing inspiration from the Book of Colossians, she encouraged Christians to live out their faith in Christ. The parish vicar, Rev. Rebecca Obare, echoed Bishop Okeno’s sentiments, urging Christians to remain dedicated to God’s work.
Twelve candidates were confirmed during the service, with Bishop Okeno encouraging them to serve diligently in God’s ministry. The service also marked the 100th anniversary of the parish, with members celebrating this significant milestone and the achievements made over the years.
