One hundred and fifty-eight candidates at ACK St. Barnabas’ Shinamwenyuli Secondary School have been dedicated as they prepare to sit for their KCSE national examination. Bishop Rose Okeno presided over the dedication service held at the school grounds on Thursday morning.

The Rt. Rev. Rose encouraged the candidates to manage their expectations and remain calm, placing their hope in God. Drawing inspiration from Exodus 33:12-15, the Bishop, in her sermon titled “Dealing with Anxiety,” emphasized that God has a purpose to fulfill the covenant He has made with His people.

She advised the candidates to avoid panic during their exams and to focus on what they have learned in class.

Furthermore, the fourth diocesan bishop cautioned against examination malpractice, urging the candidates to achieve their grades honestly without resorting to cheating. Her sentiments were echoed by the school’s principal, Mrs. Hellen Atenya, who expressed optimism about her candidates achieving a mean score of six.

She advised the candidates to maintain discipline and uphold good character even beyond the national exams.
