Jessica Wesonga Laid to Rest at Shinyulu Home in Butere

Jessica Weku Wesonga, the Chief Officer of Livestock, Veterinary Services, and Fisheries in Kakamega, has been laid to rest at her home in Shinyulu, Shikunga, Butere sub-county.

The burial service, held at Shinyulu Primary School, was presided over by the ACK diocese of Butere Bishop Rose Okeno, who described the deceased as a dedicated and loyal worker. Bishop Okeno encouraged the bereaved family to place their trust and hope in God for His mercies during this difficult time.

Additionally, the Bishop took the opportunity to urge the politicians in attendance to practice tolerance and promote peace throughout the country.


Reflecting on Psalm 90 Bishop emphasized the need for “numbering our days and acknowledging the brevity of life, by making wise decisions. ” live long, live well and live wisely”.

The service was attended by notable figures, including Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa, area MP Tindi Mwale, and Roots Party leader Prof. George Wajakoyah, among other political leaders.

Governor Barasa reflected on the legacy of the late Jessica, emphasizing that she will be remembered as a devoted mother, loving daughter, trusted colleague, and true friend. He highlighted her generous spirit, noting that she gave of herself fully, with joy, grace, and a heart overflowing with kindness.
