The ACK Diocese of Butere has ordained eight deacons and commissioned five diocesan evangelists, enhancing its mission of proclaiming, renewing, and discipling within the community. These thirteen will play a vital role in advancing God’s ministry.

During the service held at St. Luke’s Cathedral in Butere, the guest speaker, Rev. Canon Peter Adolwa, encouraged the newly ordained deacons and evangelists to boldly proclaim the Word of God without fear or intimidation.

Drawing inspiration from Matthew 10:16, Canon Adolwa urged the ordinands and evangelists not to underestimate the challenges posed by those who wish to maintain the status quo. He emphasized the importance of collaborating diligently with the clergy as they fulfill their calling in God’s ministry.

In her address, the host bishop, The Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno, underscored the necessity for the new ministers to embody qualities of obedience, honesty, humility, and a love for what is good in their service. She urged them to serve with integrity and commitment.

The oath of office was administered by the Chancellor, Advocate Myron Mukuna, marking a significant milestone in the lives of these new leaders as they embark on their journey of service.

The eight ordinands include Elisham Nyamwata, the Grace Kids Coordinator; Josephine Mombo, the Mothers’ Union Coordinator; Patrick Wabuko; Rose Sunguti; Christine Namayi; Justus Mateshe; Hezron Mbumi; and Ramadhan Atito.

Additionally, the five commissioned Diocesan evangelists were John Ambaisi, Janet Muholo, Bernadette Nyongesa, Everline Okutoto, and Pamela Asira.
