Bishop Rose Okeno of the ACK Diocese of Butere emphasized God’s mercy in caring for the impoverished during her visit on Wednesday morning to the Bushe Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Manyala, Butere sub-county. This organization is dedicated to supporting children from disadvantaged families.

During her visit, Bishop Okeno encouraged the children and their guardians to place their trust and hope in God for their needs. She also took the opportunity to urge the Anglican community to actively participate in Talent Week by reaching out to the less privileged members of society.

Christine Makokha, the founder of the CBO, called upon the community to rally together in support of children from disadvantaged backgrounds who require assistance with school fees, food, shelter, and medical care.

As part of the service, the children received blankets from the CBO and school supplies from Bishop Okeno to aid them in their studies. The event was also attended by Rev. Sammy Atsali, the vicar of ACK Manyala parish among other parish leaders.

This gathering not only highlighted the importance of community support but also reinforced the message of compassion and hope that is central to our faith.

Talent week: it’s a time where Christians in the ACK church practically demonstrate God’s love, by each one using their God- given talents to serve others. Its commemorated the second week of July annually in the diocese of Butere. Today the bishop chose to serve vulnerable children in the community.
