The ACK St. Stephen’s Namasoli Church has generously donated a gate to Mundeku Polytechnic, which will be installed at the institution’s entrance.
Rev. Jane Orembe, the vicar of Namasoli Parish, noted that the polytechnic has been without a gate, which has allowed unrestricted access to the polytechnic’s compound. The new gate will help enhance security and control entry to the premises.
During the gate handover ceremony held on the polytechnic grounds, Rev. Orembe emphasized that the initiative was made possible by the church members who recognized the need to support this young institution, which is still in the process of acquiring essential resources. She reminded the congregation of the importance of gratitude and the necessity of trusting in God for His provisions.
As the Rural Dean of the Namasoli Deanery, Rev. Orembe highlighted that this initiative aligns with the vision of the ACK Diocese of Butere, which aims to address societal needs. She encouraged more well-wishers to contribute to the development of the polytechnic, which has a capacity of 200 students and is located in Khwisero Sub-County.

In her remarks, Priscah Were, the principal of Mundeku Polytechnic, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Namasoli Church for their steadfast support of the institution. She also raised concerns about the dilapidated condition of a three-classroom block, which poses a safety risk to students due to its weakened structure.
The ceremony was attended by Lilian Pessa, the Lay Secretary of the Synod, who urged local residents to consider selling portions of their land to facilitate the expansion of the polytechnic. This collaborative effort underscores the ACK diocese of Butere commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for the youth in the region.
