The Right Reverend John Okude, Bishop of the ACK Diocese of Katakwa, has urged the Kenya Anglican Men Fellowship (KAMA) to provide exemplary leadership within their families.

Bishop Okude expressed deep concern regarding the troubling trajectory of societal corruption, which has exposed children to negative influences. He emphasized the critical need for children to be guided in a holy and spiritual manner. He further articulated that the future of the nation hinges on the upbringing of today’s youth, calling on KAMA members to embrace their roles as true parents within their families.

Speaking at the ACK Butere KAMA rally held at ACK St. Luke’s Cathedral in Butere on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Bishop Okude, who also serves as the patron for KAMA in the western region, advocated for a robust KAMA department within the Anglican Church. He encouraged the fellowship to draw inspiration from their counterparts in the Mothers’ Union.

The host bishop, the Right Reverend Rose Okeno, expressed her gratitude to the diocesan KAMA department for their dedicated service to God. She called upon the members to stand in the gap and provide spiritual support to their families.

Bishop Okeno also encouraged the men to actively participate in God’s ministry, emphasizing the importance of increasing male membership within the fellowship. This sentiment was echoed by the Very Reverend Moses Omoke, Provost of ACK St. Luke’s Cathedral, who inspired the men’s fellowship with a message drawn from Acts 2:36-42. He urged them to be attentive listeners and to avoid confusion in their endeavors.

Through these collective efforts, the leaders aim to foster a spiritually enriched environment for families and communities alike.

Among the distinguished visitors were Ken Ambole, Chairperson of KAMA for the Mumias Diocese; Rev. Vitalis Othieno, KAMA Coordinator for Maseno North; Lay Canon Ken Bolingo, Chairperson of KAMA for the Nambale Diocese; and Lay Canon Justus Kakai, KAMA Coordinator for the Bungoma Diocese, among others.

Representing the ACK Butere Diocese were several clergy members, including Rev. Martin Malika, Rev. Tabitha Ongoma, and Rev. Rhodah Isomi, among others.
