Members of the ACK Diocese of Butere living in diaspora are being encouraged to support their local parishes in development initiatives. Evans Wanga Muya, a member of the ACK St. Barnabas Bumamu Church living in Nairobi, emphasized the importance of supporting the needs of local churches and working closely with parish vicars to implement church development programs.

He spoke this during a Sunday service on May 4, 2025 where he mobilized the 7M choir members from All Saints Cathedral to a fundraising effort at ACK St. Barnabas Bumamu to contribute towards purchasing music instruments for the parish.

The member of the 7AM choir also emphasized the importance of youth in churches utilizing these instruments to nurture their talents.

Furthermore, Wanga highlighted the various benefits that churches offer to youth, including moral foundation, networking opportunities, and skill development for potential monetization.

These sentiments were echoed by the ACK Bumamu parish vicar, Rev. Martin Malika, who expressed gratitude for the support from the All Saints Cathedral choir team and encouraged youth to actively participate in serving God through ministry.

“It is through the collective efforts of diaspora members and local parishioners that the church can continue to thrive and grow,” said Rev. Malika.

Rev. Malika thanked Wanga for his courageous initiative and acknowledged the positive impact that the new music instruments will have on their worship services.
