The Butere Community Development Trust is now committed to transitioning into a fully-fledged Sacco. The ACK Diocese of Butere, under the leadership of Bishop Rose Okeno, has announced that they are in the process of recruiting a field officer who will provide technical support and help enhance the group’s vision of member savings and investments.

Bishop Okeno emphasized that the selected candidate will undergo training and induction to ensure they operate in alignment with the organization’s vision. Additionally, the diocese, in collaboration with Five Talents Kenya, will provide training to BUCODETs project management committee members to help them understand their roles.

Bishop Okeno urged community members in Butere and Khwisero sub-counties to join BUCODET in order to save and invest for their economic growth. This call to action was supported by Xavier Kioko, Program Manager, and Wilfred Nandwa, Finance Officer, from Five Talents Kenya, who highlighted that four dioceses have successfully transitioned to Saccos.

These statements were made on Thursday evening, following a BUCODETs field officer interviews at the Bakhoya boardroom at the Diocesan headquarters in Butere.
