The Bishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Diocese of Butere, Rose Okeno, is calling on Christians to establish strong foundations in Christ and to refrain from engaging in African cultural practices that may hinder their spiritual growth.
The Rt. Rev. Okeno has raised concerns about certain cultural practices that continue to oppress women in today’s society. She emphasized the importance of listening to God’s guidance in order to navigate the challenges of modern life.
Furthermore, she stressed that God remains faithful to His promises across generations, and urges Christians to step up, take risks, and make sacrifices in their journey of faith.
During a fellowship with the Bungoma chapter of the ACK Diocese of Butere, Bishop Okeno expressed her gratitude to the chapter’s leadership, particularly Arthur Shikanda and Organizing Secretary Habil Mukolwe, for their efforts in fostering unity and service among the faithful.

Drawing inspiration from the book of Joshua, Bishop Okeno highlighted the significance of leadership that is attuned to God’s instructions. She encouraged Anglican faithful, especially those living in the diaspora, to come together in various chapters to strengthen their fellowship and deepen their spiritual connection.
Bungoma Chapter is pioneering ACK Butere diocesan strategy of having Chapters in all major cities and towns across the country. The ceremony was a celebration of its tenth anniversary since its inception.
In conclusion, Bishop Okeno’s message resonated with the importance of staying rooted in faith, listening to God’s voice, and uniting as a community to fulfill God’s purpose.
